THE LAW OF PROGRESSION
by
Pastor Richard Davis
April 21, 2007

Opening Prayer:

Father we thank you that we have come into this place, gathered in your name and you said where two or three are gathered in your name there you are in the midst of them, and Father this has become our sanctuary for this hour and Lord we believe that what transpires in here will be of a glorious nature and that Father your Word will be strong and free and have free course among us today and that Your Spirit will bring liberty in this place and that the flow of God will be in this room and that Father, the things that transpire here will be supernatural physically, spiritually, mentally and in every area of our lives.  Father we thank you for it, we settle it now by faith and we call it already done in heaven, and now by faith we manifest it in the earth in Jesus’ name.  Amen, Amen!

Turn your attention to your study guide if you will.  The title for today’s dealings in the Word of God is called “The Law of Progression”.  I wanted to share some things with you today that I think are life changing as we try to do every week.  I don’t see any sense in getting into the Word just for foolish genealogies and just for learning facts and statistics, I believe that the Word of God according to Jesus, He said “My Words are spirit and they are life, and I believe that this Word of God is eternal and it changes people’s lives and it is filled with principles by which we can live, and I want to talk to you about one of those principles today entitled “The Law of Progression”.

Both good and evil have been progressing through the centuries.  I was going to ask how many of you saw on the news this week about the shootings in Virginia.  Is there anybody who didn’t see it?  The news media is like circling vultures.  They delight in catastrophe and in tragedy because that’s their thing.  It’s sad to have to make your living like that, but goods news – they say good news travels fast, but bad news travels at supersonic speed and bad news sells, and it’s sad that they have a market for it, but they do, and it’s sad the events that took place this week.

But how many of you remember that 50 years ago you didn’t hear about these kinds of things.  You could leave your screen door unlocked if you had one.  Your neighbors you knew, those times were different, sin has progressed.  Sin has found new ways to release itself in the earth.  Sin has gotten worse and worse and worse.  It’s a paradox because the Word of God teaches us that God’s Church is going to get stronger and stronger and stronger and more and more mature until one day, as He calls it in the Scriptures, it will be a glorious church.  But now the world is doing the opposite, getting worse and worse and worse and a lot of people find that difficult to justify that things in the world are getting so bad.  They say “Well how can these things be getting good”, but you’ve got to be in the spirit to understand what’s happening in God’s world.  But in the world that is ruled by the prince of the powers of the air, things just keep getting worse.

There is a progression.  God’s church keeps learning more and more and getting deeper and deeper and more and more spiritual – we keep standing on the shoulders of the previous generation, but then so does evil because there are more and more things that are just unbelievably evil in the world today.  There is a progression.  There is no shame – it used to be people would just be ashamed to do some of the things that people do openly today.  So there is a progression.

So I want us to understand how this progression works and what God has to say about it.  I wrote down here the question, “How long did Satan tempt Eve before she gave in?”  We really don’t know.  The Bible account looks like God created Adam and Eve on one day and then the next day the devil came in, in the form of the serpent, and started talking to Eve and she just sinned, but we don’t know this.  As a matter of fact, I tend to think that they were living in that garden for quite a long time.  Cain married somebody; that somebody had to come from somewhere.  I believe that Adam and Eve had other children and they had been living in that garden for a long time.  My point is it didn’t happen all at once.  I think that serpent kept coming and kept coming and kept coming until finally one day, Eve relented and caved in to the temptation.  I don’t think it just happened all at once.  In your life the devil doesn’t just jump on you and get you to, bam, commit some gross sin all of a sudden; he worked on you a little bit at a time.  There was a progression.  There’s a progression to evil and there is a progression to good.

How long did Cain’s attitude develop before he killed Abel?  We don’t know.  It looks like these things just happened like dominoes one after another in the garden of Eden.  There could’ve been decades or centuries because these people weren’t made to die, they were made to live.  You know Adam still lived even after he sinned almost 1,000 years.  They weren’t made for dying, they were made for living and so who knows how long it was that Cain and Abel co-existed as brothers until finally after a period of time something kept gnawing at him or working at him until finally it just played out.  We don’t know but I do know that the devil does not come big, he comes little.  It is the little foxes that spoil the vine and if he can get you to do this today, chances are he can get you to do that tomorrow, and if he can get you to do that tomorrow, chances are in two weeks he can have you doing this.

And the same thing with God.  God could not tell us everything at one time.  God could not pump into us the spiritual forces and power that He would like to minister into us all at one time because if He did we couldn’t handle it.  As a matter of fact our physical bodies are going to have to be changed to live in glory.  Even those who do not die will have to be changed because the way you are right now, you cannot handle all of God’s glory.  Now the Bible says that the Spirit was given to Christ without measure but it wasn’t given that way to you.  You were given a measure of faith and you were given a portion of God’s Spirit and you are going to have to grow in Grace.  The Bible teaches us that we are in a growth process, a becoming process.  There is a progression.

Now God does not measure things linearally or horizontally like we do; God measures things vertically I shall say.  I just use that terminology because we measure things by time and space and calendars and days and weeks and months and years – we’ve even created a system to measure time but God measures things by “fullness”.  When a situation gets full, when it gets spaciated or saturated, when it gets to a full place, a fullness, then God says “It’s time”.  Even though the Scripture says that in the fullness of time God sent forth His son made of a woman, made under the law, we emphasize the time part because that’s where our minds are, but God emphasizes the “fullness of time”.  There had to be a fullness before the Christ, the Messiah could come.

There also has to be a fullness of evil before God will deal with it or judge it.  Now when a baby gets born don’t we always like for it to be full term.  Nobody wants a premature birth.  Everybody wants it to be a fullness before there is a birthing, right.  Who created that process?  God because that’s how God works.  Anything less than a fullness is an aberration of the way it is supposed to be and the way it was designed.  Now when you eat a piece of fruit, don’t you like for it to be fully ripe, you don’t want it to be over ripe, but you don’t want it to be green either – you want it to be fully ripe because there is a certain window of opportunity that you have to eat that fruit.  Too late is not good and too early is not good – there is a window.  Who created that process?  God.  God is a progressive God.  He moves in progression.

The Bible says that Abraham was fully persuaded.  I want you to notice that word “fully”.  God said to Abraham that he was going to have a seed and that seed was going to bless the whole earth but he didn’t have that seed for years and years.  God actually had to come back to Abraham.  Now, see, a lot of folks don’t understand this but let me explain the way of life more clearly to you.  God actually had to come back to Abraham, at a certain point after a period of time, and change his name and Sarah’s name.  Why?  To readjust their thinking because Abraham came to God and said “What will thou give me seeing – seeing I have no heir?”  In other words Abraham said “I don’t see anything”.  God said okay “Let me change your name.  Let me change your name so you can start seeing yourself differently.  That way it is going to get in your mouth, your head, your ears and your mind is going to get renewed to it”, and it was years and years before that seed called Isaac came but then he was fully persuaded.  Not halfway persuaded, not somewhat persuaded but fully persuaded.

You know there are things I believe that God has destined for you but He can’t do them yet because you are not fully ready, not fully prepared, not fully persuaded.  On the Day of Pentecost, the Bible says that when the Day of Pentecost was fully come, fully come, then God poured out His Spirit, a sound from heaven like a rushing mighty wind filled the place where they all were sitting and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and they began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance, but the day had to fully come before that gift could be released.  Those people had been in that room for ten days.  How do I know that?  Because Jesus celebrated the Passover with them, then He was crucified and buried (three days) and then we understand that He was 40 days preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom to them in resurrected form and then He was caught up to heaven.  All that represents itself from the Passover to Pentecost, it was 50 days – always had been on the Jewish calendar.  So it was 50 days and that 50 days had to be fully matured and those people had been there for 10 days.  What were they doing?  They were preparing their hearts and getting ready for the outpouring from God.  They had to be fully prepared and ready.  There had to be a fullness before the promise could be released – I want you to see that.

Now, God’s Word will produce in somebody either a humble heart or a hardened heart.  God’s Word kept coming back to pharaoh and the Word of God says and the translators -- Listen the translators that were commissioned by King James of England, the translators reasoned some things out because some Greek words and Hebrews words can go either way in a meaning and they reasoned some things out that it meant this, and they were wrong.  You need to understand that although the Bible says that God hardened pharaoh’s heart, you have to understand what that means.  That means that God’s Word kept coming at pharaoh and he did not receive it and when God’s Word keeps coming at somebody it will either humble their heart or harden their heart; depending on what they do with it.  You understand that.

I don’t think it had to be Judas that betrayed Jesus, it had to be somebody but I don’t think it had to be Judas.  I think Judas opened himself to be used of the devil.  Maybe unwittingly but he did.  Because if we say that then we are saying that God consigns some people to hell and I don’t believe that for a second.  I wouldn’t do it, you wouldn’t do it, so why would we think God would do it.  God is better than we are.  Isn’t that true.  Nobody is consigned to hell.  If you go to hell you are going to have to go over the cross, and through the blood to get there.  Amen.

Now, the Word of God will either harden or humble somebody’s heart – it is how they respond or react to it, but there has to be a fullness of whatever it is.  There has to be a fullness of the hardening of the heart.  There has to be a fullness of the humbling of the heart before God will produce a momentous call.  You understand what I am saying?  You got to be ready.  God will only pour to the level of your preparation.  That woman had to get her vessels in order before the oils would flow and the oil stopped flowing when her preparation of vessels ran out.  God will only pour to the level of your preparation.

Now, in Mark 4:26 (I want you to turn there with me – I want you to see something).  This is God’s creative genius.

26And he said [Jesus is talking], So is the kingdom of God [in other words this is the way things work in the kingdom of God], as if a man should cast seed into the ground;

27And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how.

His responsibility is to sow the seed.  His responsibility is not to make it grow, but to make it sow.  God creates the harvest, not us.  Then He goes on to say.

28For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.

See that progression.  You got four stages of progression, you got the seed, you got the blade, you got the ear and then you got the full corn in the ear.  It’s not ready until there is a fullness, but there is a progression, there are stages that it goes through to get there, you follow that.

Now, in Mark 4:4,

4And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up.

Now I want you to see this, this is once again part of the process.  He is talking about the sower sowing the seed.  And it said some of it fell on ground and the fowls came immediately.  The Bible says in one place and Satan cometh immediately.  He comes to get whatever is sown while it is still in seed form because once it takes root and once it begins the process of becoming a stalk, and then a full ear, he can’t do anything about it then because it has already taken root in you, and it’s much harder for him to get so he comes immediately.  Have you ever noticed that you could go to the House of God and hear a wonderful message on some issue – well lets say on prosperity – financial prosperity, and almost immediately – before you can even get home or especially during that week – it looks like the devil just jumped on you with both feet to prove to you that you are not prosperous, you cannot be prosperous and you will never be prosperous.  As a matter of fact he wants to take what you have now.  Have you ever noticed that?  Have you ever noticed you hear a message on healing and before you can even get out of the meeting you get sick.  What is his strategy – to come and get the seed of the Word while it is still in seed form because once it takes root he knows he can’t get it then; its going to start making a difference and changing your life.

So his strategy is to get it in the first stage, you understand.  He will always come to make you too sick to go to the healing meeting.  He will always come to knock you out of your blessings.  He’ll try to preempt the seed.  In other words if he can he will keep you from getting to the service to begin with so that you won’t even get the seed.  He comes early on.  He plans ahead but God plans even more ahead.

In Proverbs 15 a child left to himself bringing his mother to shame.  But that doesn’t happen all at once.  You take a precious little newborn baby and if all you do is just feed him and clothe him, feed him and clothe him, he is going to grow up but you haven’t raised him or trained him in the way he should go – when he’s a baby he is going to start learning and by the time he gets to be a teenager he’ll kill you.  He will do ugly, ugly things.  Why?  It doesn’t happen all at once.  It’s a gradual process.  Some people wonder why their teenagers are out of control and we always blame it on the wrong crowd; that wrong crowd may live at your house.  That wrong crowd might be you.  Not because of something you did, but maybe because of something you didn’t do.  Children know rejection, if they are wanted or not when they are born.  Children respond to the fact that a father ran out and left them when they were children; that affects them in later life.  You know seeds are sown but it doesn’t happen all at once.  It’s a gradual process because God designed things to be processed or to progress.

I wrote down here Barney Fife, nip it in the bud.  You ever seen Barney on television “Nip it in the bud”.  He’s telling Andy how to raise Opey.  Nip it in the bud – he does this on several episodes and I can tell you all of them by heart, but my favorite one is when Gomer joins the marines.  Gomer is sitting there with a bucket on his head, Andy comes to the window and says “pppsst”, hey Gomer”.  Gomer lifts that bucket up and says “Hey Andy, what you doing here?  How did you know it was me under here”?  Andy says “What’s wrong Gomer?”  Gomer says “Nothing, why you ask”?  Andy says “Because any time I see a man sitting in a quanton hut with a bucket on his head I have to ask what’s wrong”.  “Oh this thing here.  Sergeant Carter clamped this thing on my head because I wasn’t thanking too well.  He told me if I put this thing on my head I would thank better, and you know Andy it works because I’ve been thanking and thanking and thanking”.  Andy says “What you been thanking about”?  He says “How easy it is to thank under here”.  And my favorite is he says “Here Andy, try it on and take a thank under there”.  [everybody’s laughing.]

But there is one episode of Leave it to Beaver.  Beaver had a new bicycle and his dad told him don’t take it out away from the house and don’t’ anyone else ride it so he takes it down to the drugstore and has it parked out there and this big kids comes by and says “Hey what a neat bike, starts bragging on his bike.  You know sometimes cheap flattery will get you to do things that you ain’t supposed to do.  Anyway this big kid says “Hey can I ride your bike”.  “No, my dad said no”.  “Can I just ride it down to that post right there?”  “Okay I guess so”.  So he rides it down to the post and brings it right back.  “Hey, can I ride it down to the corner?”  “I guess so”, two or three times and finally he rides around the corner and he never comes back, and Beaver’s famous statement to his dad when his dad confronted him with “Beaver how could you do that, how could you let somebody take your bike”?  Beavers looks at him and says “I guess dad because he stole it a little bit at a time.

And that’s the way it works.  It doesn’t happen all at once.  It works a little bit at a time.  The Bible says “Line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little, there a little shall God speak to His people.  So what we have to understand is that there is a processionary, a progressionary, work both in the evil realm and in the good realm and we need to understand how it works and why it works and work the principles of God in our behavior, in our favor.

I put down here termites.  You know termites don’t destroy your house all at once, they are secretly behind the scenes, gradually progressing.

Cancer – it works unseen, out of the way until finally it is too late.

Heart disease – that doesn’t happen all at once.  Your whole life is filled with progressions.

I was in Greenville this pass week visiting my parents and by daughter said – we were talking about some things and my daughter said “Do you know dad that right now in Greenville County, SC, there are four 9 year old girls who are pregnant.  Four 9 year old girls who are pregnant.  Folks that used to be impossible.  That used to be physically impossible – a 9 year old girl could not get pregnant.  But you know I have a theory, I have a philosophy – that we have fast food fed our children, our families.  We take them to McDonalds, Burger King, Hardies, and you know Kentucky Fried and all these places, and we give them food that has been forced fed for fast growth.  You don’t find chickens around the barnyard down at Kentucky Fried, you find the chickens in the crates.  Why? Because they are all fed growth hormones and they are fed antibiotics and things to keep them marketable.  You see the stores are only interested in shelf life, not your life.  And when you feed growth hormones and things like that to kids and they grow up on it, I think the result is that you get kids that are emotionally and mentally kids but physically they are developing and they can get pregnant at nine.  They can carry guns to their school.  They can do these things.  Why?  Because we have created an aberration and tried to make a process happen quick.  Anytime you go around God’s program and God’s plan you are going to get an aberration harvest, it is going to come back and bite you on the butt somewhere.

So learning how to operate in God’s program is the way it happens.  Did you know that Adolf Hitler was a seminary student in his early years.  I mean the man went to seminary studying for ministry.  Look at the animal he became.  Look at the horrific atrocities that he instigated in the world.  How could a man degrade to that level; it didn’t happen overnight.  It happened in a process of his belief system.  A few days ago we were watching Jim Jones; how could those people, almost 1,000 people, how could they just go in there and drink poison because the man said so.  How could they do that?

I was talking to someone recently and they were talking about their religion and being at a certain place and this and that and I said “Don’t drink the kool aid.”  You know why?  Because things don’t start out that way, they become that way after awhile.  Things happen and it becomes something that it is not intended to be.  If it happened that like people would say “Hey, I’m not buying into that”.  It happens gradually.

How long does it take to change a habit?  21 days.  Anyone else have an idea?  I did some research on this and most of the experts says that it takes at least two months to change a habit (that’s 60 days).  But it doesn’t happen that like.  The point is whether its 21 days or 60 days, it does not happen easily.  Changing a habit is a progression.  You have to work toward it.

How long does it take to renew your mind?  A lot of people think, “Well I got saved, my mind is renewed”.  No its not.  Not at all.  Renewing your mind is a process.  It is a life process.  It is a daily process because God has so much and is so awesome that you can’t possibly know it all in one lifetime.  You just work toward it.  It’s a progression.  Sow a thought, reap an action.  Sow an action, reap a habit.  Sow a habit reap a destiny.

*     *     *

Now I want to read the Scripture – this is the whole thing I’ve been talking about to get you to this point.  Romans 13:11-12 and I’ve got it printed right here for you.

11And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.

12The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.

We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak and not to please ourselves.  Now this is such a powerful Scripture, I want to break down to you what this means in the original text.  When it says and knowing the time – that word “knowing means to have a spiritual discernment, to discern what time it is in the process”.  To discern the time and the time there means the “season, the window of opportunity”.  That discerning the season that now, and now in the Greek means “now”, ten years ago it was then, now its now, that it is high time.

My grandma used to tell me, boy its high time you did something.  I never understood high time, but I went to the Greek language and do you know what high time means?  It coincides with that word “time, season”, and the definition of it literally means “Like a high tide”, you know the high tide comes in and it goes out, and if you are going to do something, like put a boat in the water you need to do it when the tide is high, don’t miss the tide.  As a matter of fact back in WWII, the enemy in some parts of the war sank vessels in the entrance to harbors so that at low tide the allied forces couldn’t get into the harbor because of all the debris and one of the things that the engineers decided to do was they had lots of 55 gallon drums and they shut them up tight and went out there and chained them to the debris in the harbor and when the tide came in those barrels just kept floating higher and higher and it raised that debris up off the ocean floor and they just floated it right out to sea so don’t miss the tide.  Don’t miss the tide.

And having discernment of what season it is, know that the tide is high, and its time to awake (to be roused up from sleep, from sickness, from disease, from inactivity and from obscurity).  Let me say it again.  The word to awake means to arouse up from sleep, from sickness, from disease, from death, from inactivity, from obscurity – in other words whatever has been holding you down rise up out of it, shake yourself like Sampson did because the tide is high.

For now is our salvation – see we’ve misunderstood the word salvation.  The devil has helped us misunderstand it for centuries.  We think salvation means “Oh praise God, I’m saved, I get to go to heaven”, and it does mean that but that’s not all it means.  It means that your salvation is many faceted, lots of things that are bought and paid for in your salvation that belong to you, its like a smorgasbord of things that are your’s.  Now you got to understand, it says that our salvation is nearer (the word nearer is translated as an arm would reach out and bend in bringing something closer; that word nearer is translated from the Greek).  It means to bend or squeeze toward.  Now that its in high tide, then he goes on to say than when we first believed (its much closer to you now because we are supposed to have progressed in it, and grown in it, do you understand that.  Its supposed to be much closer to you now than it was when you first heard about it.  Then he goes on to say

The night is far spent, the day is at hand, let us therefore cast off the works of darkness

What are works of darkness – anything that the devil has done to mankind – that’s the work of darkness – sickness, disease, sin, debauchery, crime, those things – lets cast them off and put on the armor of light.

Now in Ephesians 6, it says put on the whole armor of God.  The shoes, the gospel of the preparation of peace, the sword of the spirit which is the word of God, the breastplate of righteousness, the shield of faith, but what is the helmet.  Salvation.  It’s that thing that you are supposed to get your mind renewed – that’s the reason why its called a helmet because your mind has to get renewed to that smorgasbord of everything that belongs to you in salvation.  You have to understand that you have been given healing, health, wholeness, anointing, favor and prosperity, and blessing and power and I mean the list keeps going on and on, all of these things are just given in your salvation package.  It belongs to you.  It’s already your’s and the more we progress instead of just staying right over here at the rudiments and the fundamentals of faith, “God I’m saved, I’m waiting on Jesus to come so I can go to heaven”, NO, NO, NO, PUT ON THAT ARMOR.  YOU DON’T PUT ON THAT ARMOR JUST TO SIT AND WAIT.  YOU PUT ON ARMOR TO MARCH INTO A BATTLE AND TAKE SOMETHING BACK THAT HAS BEEN STOLEN FROM YOU.  WHEW, I’M PREACHING MYSELF HAPPY!

. . .  Now that’s what I’ve been trying to tell you, progression is a part of life, but when a fullness comes, God says “its enough”.  Papa says it’s enough.

Job 28:3

3He setteth an end to darkness, and searcheth out all perfection: the stones of darkness, and the shadow of death.

Jesus made 7 statements while He was on the cross – 7, the number of fulfillment and completion and to get to the end of the thing.  The 7th, the end, the last fulfilling statement that He made was “It is finished”.  There is an end to it.  Oh my God I wish I could run around that swimming pool and you could still hear me preach.  The year 2007 is the year of the open door; God has already declared it.  2007, 7 -- Completion.

Deuteronomy 15

1At the end of every seven years thou shalt make a release.

Bring an end to bondage and things that chain and bind you.

Psalms 46:

9He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.

If there is war in your flesh, war in your family, war in your finances, war in your children He brings an end to it.  There is a place where God says “Alright there’s a fullness here, that’s enough”.

Proverbs 23:18

18For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off.

What is thine expectation?  What is your expectation?  It is your faith.  You are expecting.  Your faith will not be cut off or ashamed or destroyed because you are expecting.  There is an end.

Jeremiah 29:11

11For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Peace means total well-being and not of evil, or not of allowing evil to overcome you.  To give you an expected end.  That means the end of your faith; what you are believing for, to give you the end of that thing.

Romans 10:10

10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

See righteousness is right standing with God, you just accept that and believe it, but salvation you get to walk around in, take it off the shelf and look at it and say “Oh this is mine, this is mine, I’m walking around in my salvation, praise God.”  This is my healing, this is my prosperity, this is my joy, my peace – that’s my salvation – that’s done with your mouth.  Confession.

Ephesians 6:17

17And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

Philippians 2:12

12Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

That word fear there means reverence and trembling means awe.  Have you ever been so excited about something you were just trembling.  Not scared just trembling, Oh my God, Oh Lord, just trembling.  It says work out your own salvation.  You know the term work out means as if you would go into a mine and work it out until you get every nugget out of it.  Get every nugget out of your salvation with awe and reverence.  Hallelujah.

Hebrews 1:14

14Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

God has commissioned His angels as ministering spirits to help you to learn how to be heirs of this salvation.  And as I said last week, an heir doesn’t get his inheritance when he dies, he gets it when the other person dies.  Jesus already died and resurrected, your inheritance is your’s now and angels are here to help you walk in it.

Hebrews 2:3

3How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;

Now the previous Scripture says “if the word that angels spoke was true, and everybody gets a just recompense of reward, how then shall we escape if we neglect so great salvation.  I always heard that preached in the negative.  “How are we going to escape the judgment and the wrath of God if we don’t get saved”.  That’s not what that Scripture is saying at all.  It’s how are you going to escape sickness?  How are you going to escape death?  How you going to escape trouble?  How you going to escape poverty?  How you going to escape the powers of darkness if you neglect this salvation that’s already your’s.  You can’t.

1 Peter 1:19

9Receiving the end of your faith [that’s your expectation], even the salvation of your souls.  Not your spirit, your spirit has been redeemed, your spirit has been made righteous.  He’s talking about the salvation of your soul – that’s the thing you are walking around herein thinking through.  There’s salvation for your body and for your mind and for your emotions and for your checkbook.

Now let me tell you what God did.

Ephesians 2 says we are his handiwork.  The word is translated “__________”, which in the Latin is translated to mean “poem”.  Have you ever known the author of a poem to say this is my masterpiece.  And what does that author do?  He expresses himself through that poem, through that writing, he expresses himself, and he said this about you.  You are my masterpiece.  See, the devil wants us to think we are beneath him but he’s beneath you.  Resist him and he will flee from you.  From who?  You, not God, You!  Now listen.  In Romans 8:37 it says

37Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

In the Greek language that’s super conquerors.  He says neither height, nor depth, nor nakedness, nor peril, or sword, or this or that, nothing can separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus for Nay in all of these things we are super conquerors, more than conquerors, you are God’s masterpiece.

The Bible in 1 John 5:4 says that you are over comers of the world by faith, by faith you overcome the world.

1Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.

2By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.

3For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

4For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

2 Corinthians 5:17

17Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

That means that just like God made Adam and set him to have dominion in the earth and Adam failed.  Then in Christ Jesus God bent down to the earth again and recreated and made a new creation and stood you up and said “Now, you go do what he didn’t do”.  You have dominion in the earth.  You are a new creation.

2 Peter 1:4

4Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Romans 8:14

14For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

WE are his sons and his daughters.

17And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

2 Corinthians 3:2

2Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:

We are living epistles, the walking around Word of God in shoe leather.

1 Corinthians 3:16

16Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

The third person of the Godhead lives in you.

Speak to your mountain, Satan will flee from you.  Jesus said upon this rock I’ll build my church.  You are that church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against You!  You are his feet.  You are his body.  You are his voice in a hurting world and the Bible says He must sit at the right hand of the Father until all of His enemies are made His footstool, and you are the feet.  In Romans He said, God shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly.  Heal the sick he said to his disciples.  Raise the dead, cast our devils.  I want to tell you God says there can be an end to something when wickedness gets to its fullness, when sickness gets to its worse, when ugliness is at its best, then you stand up and call an end to it and say “Thus sayeth the Lord God Almighty, I call you to an end.  Cancer I stop you in your tracks, death and lack and disease, I stop you in your tracks.  You shall progress no further.  Just like God said to the ocean when he made the shores, He said “This far shalt thou come and no further and here shalt thou proud waves be stopped.”  Say that to your problems.

Salvation is your’s now.  Everything Jesus bought and paid for belongs to you now.  You are not going to get it when you go to heaven, you won’t need it.  You need it now.  Walk into the storehouse.  Eyes have not seen, ears have not heard, neither has it entered into the hearts of men the things that God has already prepared for them that love Him; it is revealed to them by His Spirit.  Walk into the storehouse; look on the shelves; see what God has already prepared for you.

I don’t even know how to describe to you right now what I feel in my soul.  For about the last 20” I’ve been in a different zone here, but in my life I’m going to call an end to some things.  In your life you call an end to some things.  It shall progress no further.  We don’t know who we are.  I think the devil knows who we are better than we do; he doesn’t want us to know.  He knows if you ever find out you are a sleeping giant, but now it is high time to awake out of sleep.  The tide is high, strike while the iron is hot.  Strike while the Spirit is moving.  Salvation, the Bible calls it, full and free.  Fullness.

Father we praise you today.  Hallowed be thy name.  Sacred and holy and righteous art thou Oh Lord our strength and our Redeemer.  Lord today we got a glimpse of who we are supposed to be.  Today the Holy Spirit gave us just a slight insight into the power that is available to us.  God let no one leave here today unchanged by your Word.  Father in the name of Jesus empower us, help us to shake ourselves and rouse up and take our place and put Satan in his place.  Lord help us to see it and walk in it, possess it and in the name of Jesus right now I call an end to some things.  There is a fullness and the Spirit of the Lord says it is enough.  I am speaking to somebody right here, right now in this room and the Lord says “It’s enough, take your stand, its enough, take your stand and He will flee from you”.  Would you just lift up your hands right now and just praise Him.  Thank you Father, thank you Father, Thank you Father.

[A woman in the crowd screamed out twice and I could hear her in the background coughing”.
